WHO WE ARE

A 50-Year Legacy of Pocket Knife Collecting in the Palmetto State

The Palmetto Cutlery Club was founded in July 1974 by twelve upstate South Carolina collectors who shared a passion for fine pocket knives, ethical trading, and the craftsmanship behind every blade. Half a century later, the club is still going strong — and still meeting on the first Tuesday of every month in Greer, SC.

We exist to promote ethical knife collecting, combat fraud and counterfeiting in the hobby, and pass the craft on to the next generation of collectors. Whether you collect Case XX, Queen, Buck, Boker, Bulldog, or custom hand-made folders, you have a seat at our table.

  • Founded 1974, incorporated in South Carolina 1979
  • First Tuesday of every month, 7:00 PM, Greer Tennis Club
  • Annual club knife issued to members since 1976
  • Annual Palmetto Knife Show — collectors, dealers, and makers
  • Monthly newsletter and a members-only classified ads board

ETHICS FIRST

What “Palmetto Cutlery Club” Means

The Palmetto Cutlery Club is named for South Carolina — the Palmetto State — and our original 1976 club logo featured the palmetto tree flanked by two pocket knives. That mark still represents us today.

But the name carries a deeper commitment. From day one our members have pledged to uphold the highest ethical standards in trading, to combat fraud and counterfeiting, and to share accurate knowledge with new collectors. In a hobby where reproductions and misrepresented knives are common, that promise matters.
